Pair antique 19th c. Chinese porcelain temple altar fruit pyramids of walnuts in famille vert glaze. Mellow shades of brown, green and yellow. Measure 5 1/2" tall. Good condition. Later stamped CHINA in red for export. Fruit stacks were used as offerings in a home or temple altar, and also in tombs. Worshipers believed the Gods could not discern the difference between fresh fruit and porcelain facsimiles.
