Simple, sculptural and supremely tactile, this vintage foundry crucible has an ardent Industrial past. Made in 20th century Czechia, this piece would have originally been used for melting metals in a furnace. Pits and craters mark the surface of the graphite, proving it has known the heat of the flame. The deep slate grey color of the exterior is stippled with oxides and carbon — traces of metals that were once cast in this vessel.
