Antique Empire period early 19th century French gilt and patinated bronze ink stand. The design features a dandy shepherd with his crook perched gracefully atop a fountain. The ink font is secreted inside the base of the fountain. The figure's casting is exceptional showing intricate details of his clothing and facial features. He appears to be counting coins held in his hand. Measures 9 1/2" tall. Good condition.
