Antique hand-hammered metal bronze ceremonial pot "Lota" from India. Brass water pot with fluted design in the centre narrow neck with flat rim. In India Hindu tradition, it is called "Lota". After the worship, water Is sprinkled on the place of worship or home and also to watering a tulsi which is a holy basil plant to enrich Itself. People keep holy water from the Ganga (Holy River) inside this pot. Handcrafted and chased, hammered brass with geometric and floral design. Great patina, India late 19th century.
