The distressed and repaired character of this wonderful collectible is from many years of play. While it’s been in my family since the early 1960s it's been a cherished display piece. It has a friendly simple face, real horse hair mane, cotton braid tack, bakelite stirrups, golden gem eyes, and Windsor grey markings like the royal horses at Windsor Castle or dapple grey. Judging by the spread of the front and back legs I think it was probably a bow rocker. Fortunately, the way his feet are positioned he sits on his own easily. There are no maker marks but I assume it is made by the English company G. J. Lines.
