A Dutch engraved brass snuffbox from the 18th century, rectangular in shape with rounded corners, fully engraved on all sides; the rim features a graceful scrollwork motif decorated with foliage. The lid of this 18th-century Dutch snuffbox bears an undeciphered inscription and five circular tableaux, medallions containing the busts of dignitaries with their respective dated inscriptions, the most recent dating to 1748. The lower part of this antique box is engraved with a gallery of figures behind a balustrade covered with coats of arms. The snuffbox comes from a private collection and is in good condition, despite the natural wear and tear due to its 18th-century appearance and use.
