Every surface has been worked by a single artisan using hammer, chisel, and acid-relief techniques passed down through generations of Turkish metalwork. The dome is covered edge to edge in a dense, hand-chased geometric field; an interlocking six-petal rosette pattern known in Islamic art as the Flower of Life motif, punctuated at each node by a hand-punched circular boss. Not a single motif was stamped or cast. Each form was individually struck into the brass surface, creating a low-relief field of extraordinary precision and rhythm.
