This collection of wooden quill bobbins dates to the late 19th through early 20th century (c. 1880's–1930's), when they were used in textile mills to hold yarn within shuttle looms. Each bobbin is crafted of hardwood with a reinforced brass tip designed to endure heavy industrial use. The decorative red-and-white thread wrapping was added later, and is only suitable for display purposes. These are factory reclaimed items.
