A large size English brass jelly kettle dating from the end of the 19th century. This style of kettle was made with a very thick and heavy bottom to evenly distribute heat so that the jellies and preserves would not burn when being thickened. It is fitted with a blacksmith made iron handle and is in excellent overall condition. This is an unusually large size kettle, typically these kettles are half this size or smaller. Height dimension below is to the top of the handle, the height of the bowl is 4.25".
