Crafted in Sterling Silver, this holy water font from the late 1800s features a classic religious figure: a guardian angel watching over a child wherever it goes. Framed in Baroque scroll details, including cherubs supporting the image on either side, the angel sits above the water well, also adorned with playful cherubs. The back has a ring attached for mounting, which traditionally would be placed by a home’s main entrance so that those arriving and leaving could also be blessed with safe passage. This piece comes from Toledo Spain, from a home steps away from the Santo Tomé Chapel, best known for its connection to El Greco.
