Originally a sculptor, Harry Bertoia took the techniques he used to manipulate metal wire and translated them into furniture design. In 1952, the result was the Diamond Chair, made by strategically bending a quadratic lattice of steel wire into an organically shaped diamond embraced by an iron base. The Vitra Miniature Diamond Chair perfectly recreates the airiness and smooth geometry at 1:6 scale.
