An exquisite pair of Art Deco style obelisks formed entirely from rock crystal and green fluorite. Each piece is structured in the manner of a monumental column, composed of a square stepped base supporting a tall cylindrical shaft. The bases are formed with tiered square plinths in green fluorite, transitioning into a central cube of rock crystal, surmounted by further stepped green fluorite sections. The shafts are constructed from elongated cylindrical rock crystal, displaying natural internal veining and cloudy inclusions characteristic of the material. At the summit of each shaft rests a stepped green fluorite capital, upon which a spherical rock crystal finial is mounted. The combination of geometric tiered bases, tall cylindrical shafts, and orb finials creates a columnar design that emphasizes both verticality and symmetry. The surfaces of the crystal show natural variations, with cloudy white and translucent inclusions contrasting against the deeper green sections of the fluorite. This pair demonstrates the influence of Art Deco design with its emphasis on strong geometry, tiered structuring, and contrasting materials. Rock crystal and green fluorite were favored in decorative objects of the early 20th century, often worked into monumental forms such as obelisks and columns. The materials used here highlight the natural clarity and inclusions within the crystal, set against the more opaque and saturated coloration of the green fluorite, typical of decorative hardstone works produced during this period.
