Dal Burtchaell is a Southern Folk Potter born and raised in Gillsville, Georgia. In his early production years Dal made unglazed flowerpots, strawberry pots, and a large assortment of outdoor planters. After years of making functional pottery, Dal began producing jugs and other specialty folk art items. These items were just the creative outlet Dal was looking for and he immediately turned his artistic talents to the creation of a very unique style. He began glazing and making more original and collectible items. Through trial and error and experimentation Dal developed into a a highly collected Southern Folk Artist. His glaze recipes are custom mixed and very unique. He crafts face jugs, stoneware, utilitarian items, urns, vases, and is known for his very large pieces which are up to 20 gallons. This Southern folk art face jug measures 11” and has a diameter of 5.5” . Primarily soft white with a tobacco spit glaze this jug is a great addition to any home or office.
