Carved Southern hardwood walking stick by Vernon Edwards, one of the Savannah “Stick Men,” with an oak handle fitted through the top of the shaft, carved collar and rings, and an incised VE monogram on the handle. Edwards worked in Pooler, Georgia, and became known for walking sticks and sculptural carvings, including snakes, hands, figures, and related motifs. His work was featured in the Telfair Museum’s Masters of the Walking Stick exhibition. 1 inch wide by 36 ½ inches tall. from the Collection of John and Virginia Duncan, Savannah, GA
