A French Neoclassical period nicely-carved demi lune console table, with its original marble top and carved urn finial accent at underside, from the 18th century. This antique table from France features its original half-circular/demi shaped marble top (with shallow rectangular projections atop front legs), resting upon a rounded apron adorn in an entwining circular carved trim with petite bead and barrel trim about the bottom skirt line. Carved flower heads set within squared frames are within the apron, just above each of the four fluted cylindrical legs, wrapped acanthus leaves just above their squared ankles, and terminating into nice peg feet. The legs are braced at their ankles with a pair of elaborately decorated, curved wooden stretcher bars, which are adorned atop their centering intersection with a three-dimensionally carved neoclassical urn finial at top with pair of volute carved handles and overflowing garland. The creamy painted finish is old, but not original. This 18th century French Neoclassical demi console table, with its original marble top, will be a splendid piece for your foyer, living room, or perhaps a stairway landing.
