The Doron Console is a half-moon-shaped console made of solid Canaletto walnut wood in a low-gloss finish, or lacquered in matte or glossy finishes in the following colors: comfort, marron glacé, sage green, China red, midnight blue, black, petrol, powder, cream, ash.‎Designed in 1947, the Doron Console takes its name from the legendary Hôtel du Doron in Méribel, located in the Savoie region of the French Alps, a place that Charlotte Perriand, a great mountain enthusiast, frequently visited.‎The console stands out for its unique and architectural aesthetic, which enhances the evocative texture of the wood.‎ In a crescendo of volumes, the sculptural top is outlined by a sinuous, asymmetrical wave, with its inclination slightly varying from one end to the other—a detail that reflects the craftsmanship of Cassina’s woodworking.‎ Developed to be fixed to the wall, the console is supported by a single cylindrical leg, giving lightness and visual harmony to the model while ensuring greater stability.‎The remarkable versatility of the console makes it perfect for various contexts: from the entrance area as an elegant surface, to the living room as a refined table or writing desk, to the bedroom as a vanity table, and even in the passage space between the kitchen and dining room, just as Perriand used it in her design of the Les Arcs apartment complex.‎Today, Cassina offers the Doron Console in solid Canaletto walnut wood and in glossy or matte lacquered variants in a wide selection of colors—comfort, marron glacé, sage green, China red, midnight blue, black, petrol, powder, cream, and ash—that highlight its unique shape.‎
