The shaped, fold-over top opens to a full circular surface, revealing a beautifully figured flame mahogany veneer with a finely inlaid satinwood banding and crossbanded border. The rich, warm tones and symmetrical figuring of the top demonstrate a high level of cabinetmaking skill and careful material selection. The frieze is subtly shaped with a gentle apron, raised on four slender cabriole legs terminating in delicate pad feet, lending the piece a graceful, light appearance. The hinged top is supported by a swing-out gate leg mechanism, allowing the table to transform from a compact console form into a practical circular table. Mahogany, with brass hinges.
