Intarsio is a solid American walnut desk conceived as a practical exploration of the art of marquetry. From a single wooden block, four triangular stools are carved, fitting back like puzzle pieces to reshape the desk’s form. Each stool has three visible sides, each with a different finish—natural walnut, blue lacquer, and copper—creating shifting visual compositions depending on their orientation. The ultra-thin tabletop highlights the strength of solid wood as a compositional element. Two drawers with blue lacquer interiors and a hidden compartment with power outlets complete this modular, sculptural piece designed to transform the living environment.
