A classic of modernist comfort, this brown leather swivel desk chair by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller is part of the iconic Soft Pad series, originally introduced in 1969. This example dates to the 1980s (three chairs date stamped 1983 and seven chairs 1984) and features the hallmark three-cushion design with rich brown leather upholstery and a matching back silhouette that combines ergonomic support with unmistakable style.Note, we have 10 chairs available, priced individually. These examples are on feet however the feet can be swapped out for casters if preferred. The seat rotates on a sturdy four-star aluminum base and aluminum cast frame with sculptural armrests. The chairs are date stamped (three of the chairs 1983 and seven chairs 1984) and retains its original manufacturing tag and Herman Miller sticker label, confirming their vintage authenticity (see last photo). Great examples for collectors of mid-century and modern design. A more plush variation of the famous Aluminum Group, and similar in comfort to the Time Life chair, also by Ray and Charles Eames, the Soft-Pad management office chair offers timeless appeal, equally suited for executive offices or design-forward interiors.
