Aluminum Trombone Desk Lamp Attributed To Jo Hammerborg For Fog & Mørup, 1966

Chairish

$944

A classic of danish lighting design, the "trombone" table lamp was created by jo hammerborg for fog & mørup in 1966. Known for its rigorous geometric lines and high-quality materials, this lamp is a testament to the golden age of scandinavian modernism. The design features a cylindrical shade made of solid aluminum with a brushed finish. The shade is detailed with a row of precision-cut vertical slots along the top and bottom rim, which creates a decorative light spill and prevents overheating. It is supported by a strict "h" frame structure made of chrome-plated steel, allowing the shade to tilt to direct light exactly where needed. The lamp stands on a heavy, square metal base originally finished in grey lacquer. This piece retains its original fog & mørup hangtag, certifying its authenticity. condition: the item is in good vintage condition, with signs of age on the base. The brushed aluminum shade and chrome stems are in good condition with minor wear consistent with age. The grey lacquered base shows heavy paint loss and surface rust/oxidation (please see close-up photos). This wear gives the piece a distinct industrial patina. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, up to 250v (europe/uk standard).the wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
