Desk Lamp By Christian Dell For Kaiser Idell, 1950s

Chairish

$1,382

A rare desk lamp designed by Christian Dell for Kaiser Leuchten in the 1950s. The lamp has a light feel, accentuated by the shell-shaped base, that makes it look as if the lamp is floating from above. This effect is further emphasized by the shaft's construction, which consists of two different parts. One part is connected to the base, while the other connects to the lampshade. This allows the user to adjust the length of the shaft. The shade is also adjustable via a ball joint. The desk lamp remains in good condition. The metal parts have acquired a beautiful patina over the years. Height: 59 cm - adjustable Lampshade: 38 cm ∅ Base: 18 cm ∅ This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution, European Plug (up to 250V).The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
