A German Bur Bauhaus desk lamp In the Bauhaus style ca. 1920 a German BuR desk lamp with an enameled lampshade in the color dark green on a black cast iron base. The arm and the shade are movable The measurements are: 42 cm (16.5 Inch) high, 29 cm (11.4 Inch) wide and the base is 21 cm ( 8.3 Inch) deep. 1 Inch = 2.54 cm The weight is 2180 grams Bünte & Remmler emerged in 1880 from the Wagner & Goldschmidt Company in Frankfurt. As a manufacturer of petroleum lamps, BuR became a well-known producer of quality "lamps" in Germany around 1900. In the 1920s Christian Dell and Wolfgang Tümpel made designs for Bur. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
