An elegant pair of Swedish Modern desk lamps manufactured by Bäcklunds Järn & Smide (BJS) in Skellefteå, Sweden during the 1960s.The lamps feature clean cylindrical shades executed in white lacquered steel, complemented by polished brass flexible goosenecks and matching brass details. Their restrained geometric forms and functional construction exemplify the refined simplicity associated with Scandinavian lighting design of the period.Each lamp is fully adjustable thanks to its flexible brass neck, making the pair equally suitable as bedside lamps, reading lamps or desk lighting.Both examples retain their original BJS manufacturer's stamp underneath the base, confirming their authenticity.Presented in good vintage condition, they display honest wear consistent with age, including small paint losses, light scratches and an attractive patina to the brass elements.
