This mid 20th century, brown, Flexo brand light, is an adjustable, drafting lamp, that was made by the Art Specialty Co., in Chicago, Illinois. The “Flexo” line specifically referred to their articulated or flexible, arm lamps, which allowed for adjustable lighting positions, making them perfect for tasks requiring precision. It has a total height of 36 inches, with a weighted base measuring 8.5“ W x 8.7.5“ H x 4“ D—and a weight of almost 20lbs!—this bad boy will NOT fall over! The top of the hood features two push button controls (red and black) and an adjustable head that houses two fluorescent bulbs (F15T8.CW, 15 Watts). This Flexo lamp has a geometric-shaped base and a streamlined design, both of which were popular, aesthetic trends in the mid 20th century—and today!
