The Decora Desk lamp was designed by Louis Kalff in 1956. Th elamp is also known as the Z-lamp. Dutch Design manufactured by Philips in the 50s. Louis Kalff was inspired by the "Evoluon" an ufo shaped attractive building in Eindhoven, city of light. The Netherlands. This lamp is in very goog, original condition. It has a solid brass base with a iron shade with tiny openings around whichn gives great lighting. About the designer: Over the cours of several decades, Dutch designer Louis Kalff created many famous designs for Philips. These Z lamps are considered to be among his best work. Well known trademarks are the opening in the lamp shade top and ofcourse the smaller openings all over the shade. This is where the top of the light bulb goes through, so the mirror lamp gives a beautifull light.
