This amazing Executive By Leopold Lehigh by Litton from the 1960s Mid Century Walnut and Chrome is almost identical to the Executive Desk by Florence Knoll This ultra-rare and ultra-cool desk features a polished steel frame, walnut veneer cabinet and brushed-aluminum legs with rosewood inlay. The contrasting woods, aluminum accents and minimalist, mid-century lines make this desk the epitome of 70's chic! This unique desk was custom-designed by SLS Environetics and produced by Leopold/Litton Industries for use in offices at the Sears Tower in Chicago. The Design firm Saphier, Lerner, Schindler Inc (SLS) was given the gargantuan task of planning the 4.4 million square feet of interior office space for the newly constructed Sears Tower, and this desk was part of that plan. Designed in-house by SLS Environetics (a division of Litton Industries), the manufacturing of the desk was then tasked to the renowned Leopold Desk Company (also a division of Litton at the time). The result is one of the most unique desks to come out of the Mid-century era, both in design and engineering!
