McDowell and Craig (Norwalk -Santa Fe Springs, CA - circa 1970s) pedestal style, double bank, Executive Tanker Desk in Beige with a metal faux wood surface top. Each of two identical banks of drawers consist of 2 flanking pull out file cabinet drawers that are positioned below two slide-pull all-purpose desk drawers. Above each of those are are simple pull out table top writing surface extensions and nestled between the two sides and located in the apron which is just beneath the desktop is a wide thin pull-out pencil shelf. Front and center of this feature is the makers mark with an attached metal plate that is embossed with a black and silver toned stylized logo and copy that reads: MANUFACTURED BY "McDowall and Spencer" Norwalk, Calif. and a locking drawer key mechanism (no key discoverable) that sits just above that manufacturers pride mark. It is an all steel desk that was made to last two lifetimes and as such is considerably heavy. You know the old saying... "They sure don't make em' like that anymore!" well, truer words have barely ever been spoken.
