His most famous desk, part of the Platner Executive Office Collection introduced in 1973, features a bullnose oak perimeter with a black leather writing surface, supported by polished chrome legs and extended feet. This collection included matching leather-covered credenzas, tables, and other accessories, emphasizing a blend of modern sensibility and classical grace, with Platner drawing inspiration from 18th-century French design. The desks were designed with functionality in mind, incorporating built-in telephones and special compartments for files and office machines, reflecting Platner's belief in creating efficient, ergonomic workspaces.
