American country workbench, 19th century. Perhaps this was a jeweler's or watch maker's workbench. This handmade piece might work perfectly for you as a desk in a country kitchen or country house setting. Highly unusual, this early example has handmade dovetails and all hand cut and finished woods. Note the unusual chute that runs from the top and out the side of one leg. Perhaps this was for setting aside precious findings of fine metals. Well compartmentalized in pine.
