For sale is a beautiful antique Edwardian "Bonheur du Jour" writing desk, dating to the turn of the 20th century. Crafted from rich mahogany, this piece exemplifies the Sheraton Revival style with its elegant proportions and intricate marquetry. Key Features: Detailed Marquetry: The upper cabinet doors feature stunning satinwood inlay depicting classical urns with foliate scrolls. Delicate string inlay accents the drawer fronts, legs, and frame. Functional Storage: The superstructure features a central beveled mirror flanked by two cabinets. The right cabinet features vertical pigeonhole dividers for stationery; the left cabinet features a single shelf. Drawers: Two frieze drawers providing ample storage for documents or laptop accessories. Writing Surface: Original inset leather top. The leather has been cleaned and conditioned; it features a heavy antique "crackle" texture (craquelure) consistent with its age.
