A fine 17th century Spanish walnut writing table of very generous proportions. Made with two solid planks of thick walnut over three drawers on robust Lira legs which are peg joined. Due to its large size and thick built structure it is extremely heavy and sturdy. It retains its original hardware iron work. It also has two hidden secret compartments built into the drawer stretchers (see last photo) The walnut has a wonderful mellow color and patina.
