Attributed After George Nelson For Herman Miller Steel Frame Desk Model 4100 Circa 1950

Chairish

$1,500

This is a Steel Frame No. 4100 Series Desk, initially designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller in 1954. This example dates to the 1950s. It features a frame of black powder-coated bent iron with yellow, blue and orange painted drawers. A divider is included inside the top drawer. It retains its original polished chrome handles. This furniture series included a chest of drawers, a side table, and a desk in two sizes. The front panels could be chosen in four different colors (black, blue, yellow, orange). The piece is lightweight for easy mobility. The laminate top has a stain, see the last picture. Aside from the stain, the top is in good condition with age appropriate wear. This desk measures 17 inches deep, 42 inches wide, and 30 inches high. It has a knee clearance of 28 inches. There are some blemishes on the front of the drawers, and there is age apparent on the frame. There is no label present, but this is a Herman Miller production. Overall, this desk is in very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
