Original, fully restored bauhaus desk, attributed to erich dieckmann, germany, 1923-1925 at the bauhaus in weimar. Wonderful rosewood / palisander veneer with excellent piano lacquer finish. Inside in bright maple in satin finish and high-gloss inside the doors. Polished stainless steel trims around the top and bottom. Nickel-plated metal fittings and details, galvanized and polished. Original locks repaired and galvanized. On the backside there are two book compartments with original sliding glass doors. Dimensions: * h 79 cm / 31 in * w 161 cm / 63.4 in * d 80 cm / 31.5 in the furniture designer erich dieckmann was a student and later teacher at the bauhaus in weimar from 1921-1930. This desk was produced in very small series in this environment. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker.
