This workbench, featuring a sheet steel construction with wooden drawers, was used by the Czechoslovak army from the 1940s onwards. Today, such pieces are usually only found in a very worn condition and require extensive restoration. The metal surfaces were cleaned of paint residue, degreased, sanded, polished, and finally treated with a rust-proof finish – with the aim of preserving the original patina as much as possible. The wooden parts were also treated with care, largely preserving the old varnish. A distinctive piece of furniture with a rich history – functional and versatile.
