Having a rectangular top with gilt tooled green leather inset writing surface, a brass keyhole shaped escutcheon and original key allow the lid to lock or unlock, lifting the tabletop open reveals a green felt panel opposite the fitted interior with removable wooden tray divided into seven compartments of various sizes, below is a large open bay for additional storage. Raised on turned base with four straight legs joined by H-form cross-stretcher, ending on four brass castors. Great condition with beautiful patina, warm and rustic, highly desirable antique character, pegged mortise tenoned joinery, elegantly aged, worn and distressed leather, expected wear including checking and some marks that add to overall charm.
