A superb late 19th century mahogany writing desk by Edwards and Roberts of London. Of excellent construction and with fine attention to detail. The superstructure with a pair of stationary cupboards flanking a central recess with an open fretwork gallery above. The main desk with a series of 7 drawers and a writing surface fitted with a sumptuous leather. The drawers retain their original solid brass handles and are decorated with blind fretwork carving. All standing on quadrafoil cluster column legs. with a pair of pull-out slides to the sides.
