Most unusual, unique and rare 19th Century mahogany writing table, half the top is hinged and opens to reveal seven adjustable compartments, a wooden lever keeps the top in place, bottle-green tooled leather writing surface, three drawers on the front, three faux drawers on the back, round brass knob hardware. The table is mounted on ring turned legs ending in brass casters. It retains the original key. The table was most likely made for an accountant or bookkeeper. It might also have been used as a rent table in place of a drum rent table.
