The Plec family is made of steel which is thought of as a tough, strong, heavy and totally stable material. In its sheet format, steel is both malleable and flexible. A feature that allows us to mold it and give it such peculiar shapes as the folds of the Plec table. To guarantee stability and consistency of the Plec tables, the designers and engineers have chosen a thickness for the base that allows repetitive folding without losing firmness and stability but still provides some sculptural and visual flexibility. The heavier the top and the higher the base, the more likely you could experience a slight ‘twisting’ sensation if you move the table or if the floor is uneven. Small levelers are provided for adjustment. This sensation varies depending on the size and height of the table and the finish of the top (steel or marble).
