Set of 2 void 03 by dmnts design dimensions: 42 x 39 x 50 cm (each piece) materials: quercus suber cork one of a kind void 03 is a multipurpose object based on the analysis of the void space of the “domus de janas” genna salixi, an underground structure from 3rd century bc, located in sardinia.the design process becomes the means to investigate, reinterpret, and connect these eternal forms in a functional sustainable object. New relationships between traditional craftsmanship and advance manufacturing, determines two complementary geometry that change according to their position layouts: a_stand up desk, b_coffee table, c-stool + pet - nest. The material chosen is quercus suber cork, collected in sardinia to develop a complete sustainable approach towards materiality and the process. Lorenzo demontis is an architect and designer based in sardinia, italy. Since graduating from sapienza university in rome, he has been working as freelance designer for various design and architecture studios in italy and in the netherlands, as well as carrying on with his own projects with dmnts. Lorenzo’s aim is to research and develop a design approach where archetype forms are combined with pure functionality and contemporary issues.
