Solid pine benches in the Børge Mogensen tradition, each featuring a flat rectangular plank seat supported by a trestle base. The base construction uses two vertical end supports connected by a horizontal stretcher, secured with protruding wood pegs — a detail drawn directly from Mogensen's peg-joinery furniture vocabulary. Construction is solid pine throughout.Mogensen's use of simple trestle forms and visible wooden fasteners drew heavily from Danish rural furniture traditions, reinterpreting peasant and craft furniture through a modernist lens. This approach was central to his work beginning in the late 1940s and continued through the following decades, emphasizing honest materials and structural legibility over ornamentation. Benches of this form were part of coordinated dining sets, and a matching table (LU922449324192) and additional benches (LU922449217942) are listed separately. Sold individually. Two available. Both benches show wear consistent with age and use and remain in good original condition.
