19th-century French Louis XVI pair of walnut side chairs boast a central crest carved with symbols associated with the King - the flambeau (lighted torch) and quiver across a traditional ribbon-tied wreath flanked by carved finials atop fluted crest rails that terminate in carved acanthus leaves. Front legs are turned, tapered, and fluted, paired with graceful and sturdy saber legs in the back. Mustard yellow velvet padded upholstery on the seat and back. Black paint accents the edges of the apron and some of the details in the legs, back rails, and fluting. Hourglass, biconical coil springs and webbing support the firm and comfortable seat.
