Basket Chair In Rattan And Metal From Gian Franco Legler, 1950s

Chairish

$263

Timeless Classic Elegant, sturdy dining chair with a delicate, modern look Design Classic The original "Basket Chair" was designed in 1951 by Swiss designer Gian Franco Legler for the Italian restaurant The Basket and produced by J. Bally in Switzerland. This chair was awarded the Good Design Award by MoMA in New York. Conveniently, it is easily stackable. This beautifully designed model is based on the original, likely by Rohé Noordwolde, who specialize in high-quality wicker furniture. It can be conveniently disassembled, which is advantageous for shipping! Classic elements include the black enameled metal frame with a woven wicker seat shell. Fine lines in the solid frame – it looks delicate, but it's surprisingly heavy. Classically beautiful Freshly cleaned and oiled, but unfortunately, the maintenance was done too late in a few places: there are some small breaks in the wicker here and there. See detailed images. Overall height approx. 82 cm, Seat height approx. 45 cm, Width approx. 47 cm (36 cm at the front) Backrest width (top) approx. 28 cm Depth approx. 52 cm Seat depth 39 cm
