The CH23 chair was one of the first chairs Hans J. Wegner designed for the Danish company Carl Hansen & Søn in 1950. Although the chair may appear simple at first glance, it incorporates a number of sophisticated and carefully considered elements: the hand-woven paper cord seat makes the chair elegant and ergonomic, and the slightly curved bag legs are designed for optimum stability. The chair offers great seating comfort and support for the back, making it well suited, for instance, for the dining room. Carl Hansen & Søn relaunched the CH23 chair in 2017. The pure expression and insightful design make this solid wood chair a true classic, which does not seem to have aged at all during the decades.
