$1,710

Dar armchair in red-orange on its original eiffel base in black finish. Design by ray and charles eames in 1950. second generation chair manufactured in 1963 by the cincinnati milacron for herman miller (recognisable by the “c” with the star marking). The date of manufacturing can be deducted based on the patent label. great orange-red shell with a lot of fibres. Very nice state without fading of the colour, cracks or deep scratches. Original shock-mounts (with the visible imprint of the eiffel base fixing points), original screws and eiffel base. the base comes in original black finish with superficial rust which has been fixed with a specific product. Some welds were repaired in the past, these repairs have been kept as is. the eames dar chair takes its name from “dining” height (d), “arm” chair (a), on “rod” base (r). It was introduced in 1950, the very first year that the molded fiberglass armchairs were brought to market. Widely considered one of the most iconic chairs in design history, the dar is often referred to as the “eiffel chair” thanks to its distinctive wire base, which echoes the structure of the famous parisian tower.
