Unique design from the Netherlands ‘Smoke’ chairs designed by Marcel Baas for Moooi A rare find in our collection: these iconic ‘Smoke’ chairs, designed by Marcel Baas for the renowned Dutch design house Moooi. A design that is not only visually intriguing, but also a true work of art in terms of technology. Each chair is made from wood that has undergone a special treatment with fire. This process results in a blackened appearance, with some parts of the wood having fallen away and been re-formed into one whole with epoxy resin. The result is a strong, characterful frame that is a striking eye-catcher in any room. The chairs are finished with high-quality black leather, professionally upholstered and embellished with a classic metal nail band. No two chairs are exactly the same, which gives each item a unique signature. We have six pieces available, which we sell per piece.
