This classic Eames DCW chair in oak is an early example produced for Evans Products Company, molded plywood division. It has a lovely, aged patina. Although the tag is no longer, the chair has all the other attributes of the earliest model such as the 5-2-5 connections and single back cushion. Provenance: this chair, along with an Eames Child's Chair, is originally from the estate of Jason F. Richardson Jr., a prominent Ottawa, IL architect. He was a contemporary of Eames and Sarineen and he collected many examples of their furniture. The paper label is long gone from the underside of this chair. Circa 1940s
