Late 19th Century Antique Asian Yoke Chairs - A Pair

Stunning pair of Qing Dynasty Period antique yolk chairs. Made of solid rosewood (fruitwood) which was the favorite wood of traditional Chinese furniture. Curved splats (4) on each chair and "yolk" on the top back. Also known and used as "mediation" chairs because of the raised front foot rest. These chairs were handmade using tongue and groove between 1644-1911. Lovely, natural age and wear and original patina stain. Pair with contemporary furniture and these side chairs really stun!
