19th Century Antique American 'Hitchcock-Style' Turtle Back Rush Seat Side Chair in Maple. The turtle-back splat features a beautiful Maple graining pattern. The chair has the traditional pillow-top rails, nicely turned front legs, and a hand-woven rush seat in excellent condition. There are no signs of the Hitchcock trademark stencil decorations or any markings to indicate it is an original Hitchcock chair. It has a lovely aged patina and graceful proportions which would allow it to work nicely in a variety of interiors from a farmhouse to an American colonial to a New England antique filled cottage. Dimensions: 17.5" W × 19" D x 34.75" H Condition: In good antique condition. Surfaces throughout show signs of wear commensurate with age and use.
