These 5 dining chairs with "Pretzel" arms were exclusively produced for Plycraft by the designer Norman Cherner (attributed). Originally designed inn the 1950s, the innovation to create the bentwood furniture effect was achieved by molding specially constructed plywood. In some of the chairs, the laminations of the plywood are featured in light and darker wood colors, making for an exquisitely unique sinuous impression. The seat and backrest are molded to provide for very comfortable seating and the organic shape featuring the "nipped in" waist is elegant and a key recognizable feature of this celebrated line of furniture. While all chairs are in working order, some minor repairs are required where the usual wear and tear of appreciated usage has damaged an upper laminate layer.
