Mid-Century Modern Eva Dining Chairs In Teak And Wool By Niels Koefoed For Koefoed Hornslet, 1960s, Set Of 4

Chairish

$1,612

The set of four "Eva" chairs, designed in the 1960s by Niels Koefoed and manufactured by Koefoed Hornslet, is an example of Danish mid-century modern design. The chairs' form is light and functional – high, slender backrests with vertical slats give them a distinct rhythm while providing adequate back support. The chairs have been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. The seat has been reupholstered in a powder pink fabric made from recycled wool. Thanks to these treatments, the set of chairs looks beautiful and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use. The structure is made of teak, which was one of the most commonly used materials in Danish furniture in the 1960s. It is characterized by durability and a warm tone, clearly visible in the grain. The chairs rest on slender, slightly tapered legs, typical of designs from this period. The element connections are clear and refined, without unnecessary details. The overall proportions make the furniture suitable for both dining tables and more formal spaces.
